Baker and Lindsey Mortgage began in the early 1960’s with R. A. “Bob” Baker, Jr. brokering mortgage loans as part of his real estate company R. A. “Bob” Baker, Jr. Realty. Through the years we have grown from a single office with 1 employee to several offices with close to 20 people employed full time. We typically rank in the top 3 lenders (by number of loans) month after month in Okaloosa County, Florida. At Baker and Lindsey the decision to approve a loan is made by Underwriters in the Fort Walton Beach Operations Center who call this area home and understand this unique market.
Baker and Lindsey, Inc. was the first local company to receive direct authorization to underwrite and fund Veterans Affairs (VA) mortgages in 1982. Due to the heavy influence and opportunity provided by area military installations including Eglin Air Force Base, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field, the Army 7th SFG (Airborne) and associated industry in this area, our VA lending remains a very large percentage of our total business, typically making up over half of our annual volume. We are very happy to be able to provide home financing to our current and former military personnel.
